We’re still in Chicago. If you’re following this travel blog primarily for information relative to the Tesla Model S, then today’s post is not for you. Today the Model S was parked all day, while we spent the day touring Chicago.
We woke to cool temperatures and lots of fog. But that didn’t stop us from our (4) objectives for the day. Millennium Park, Navy Pier, Riverwalk, and the Architecture Boat Tour. We did it all, but it literally involved walking 10 miles, according to our pedometer! Note: We could have rented bikes, riding along the Lakefront Trail, but we decided it would be fun to walk.
Millennium Park is spectacular. We could have taken a full day to explore it alone. We saw Buckingham Fountain, and a beautiful flower garden, among many other attractions.
Next, the long walk to Navy Pier. Lots of tourists, boat tours, concessions, a Ferris wheel, and other rides, and an outdoor theater, and an indoor theater.
Next, we took a water taxi to the Riverwalk that borders the river which snakes through the downtown area. We spent some time exploring the beautiful Riverwalk.
Finally, we bought tickets for the Wendella Architectual Boat Tour. This was an excellent 75 minute tour. We learned a lot about Chicago Architectural History. Fortunately, the fog was finally gone, and blue skies prevailed.
Tomorrow, we’ll begin our (2) day 940 mile journey to Rapid City, South Dakota. Stay tuned.
