As we continue our drive north, the weather keeps getting better and better. We left Richmond this morning with blue skies and 65 degrees. We originally planned to stop at Potomac Mills Mall (Woodbridge, VA), for a quick charge, but we changed our plan and drove to the Montgomery Mall Supercharger (Bethesda, MD) instead. That was a risk, since this is a “temporary” supercharging station with only 2 bays. Fortunately, one bay was free. We picked up a 25 minute charge while the girls shopped – then we visited a “touchless” car wash, and finally on to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
This will be the shortest driving day of our trip. Only 154 miles, which brings our total distance to 1,069 miles since Monday morning ($0 for fuel). We had an awesome lunch at a new restaurant at the Inner Harbor. And then I took this postcard photo with my cell phone.
The Model S has been great so far. A few drivers have given us the “thumbs up” along our way. When we checked into our hotel, we decided to bring about two-thirds of our bags up to the room (to redistribute things for tomorrow). The bellman was shocked that we filled up his rolling cart, and we still had more bags coming out of the front trunk (frunk). Still only two-thirds of what we brought.
We’ll have this evening to mentally prepare for the “college sendoff” tomorrow. Stay tuned.
